Who is Sara Locke?

I am a mom: my 7-year-old daughter is the best thing that ever happened to me, and she’s my motivation to advocate. I want to do everything I can to make a better world for her to live in.

I am a small business owner: COVID brought my business to its knees, and we survived it.

I am many things: too loud, too opinionated, too aggressive, too bossy, too stubborn, too much. I consider those my greatest strengths and the best things I can bring to the House to represent Merrimack.

I am tired: Watching our government these past few years has been a lot to take in – and I am tired of observing. Speaking up is no longer enough for me; I want to take action. Our representatives in Concord aren’t listening to the majority of our community, and things are getting wild. They have filed terrifying extremist bills – attacking public education, science, personal decisions, and more. Already marginalized demographics are being scapegoated, and those who need the most protection are left unsafe.

I’m not ok with that.

Let’s do this. Join my voice, and let’s get to work!

My Priorities

Defending Public Education

Our schools are under attack by right-wing extremists, and there is no place for that in NH. I believe that public schools are the backbone of society and party-line politics need to get out.

l

Common-Sense Gun Reform

I believe in common-sense gun laws. There’s absolutely no excuse for the amount of gun violence in this country, and our legislators should be doing everything possible to keep us safe – especially our kids.

Child Advocacy + Oversight

It’s abundantly clear that the agencies responsible for child welfare have been failing the children in our communities. It’s time for more accountability and oversight.

s

Protecting Women's Rights

Women’s bodies and personal medical decisions should be made between them and their healthcare providers. Politicians need to leave the room, full stop.

Family Court Reform

For too long, Family Court has had very little oversight, resulting in unacceptable consequences to children and victims of domestic violence. It’s beyond time to take another look.

Domestic Violence Awareness

Between the “boyfriend loophole” that enables abusers to obtain guns and the prevalence of domestic violence minimization, there is so much opportunity for education and legislation to protect victims. It’s time for a change.
